The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Children’s Center operates under the auspices of the Division of Student Success and has academic affiliations with the College of Education, the College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources, and multiple departments throughout the University system. The Center is supported by state general funds, parent fees, donations, grants, and fundraising. The University provides facilities, utilities, and maintenance service at no cost to the Center, which is located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
The Children’s Center supports the instruction, research, and service mission of the University of Hawai‘i. The Center is a site for students, faculty, and community members to observe best practices in early childhood education and to conduct research, with the express permission of parents.
Our main campus (The Big House) is licensed for up to one hundred 2 to 5-year-olds that are enrolled either full or part-week each semester in one of six classrooms at The Big House. The Center operates whenever the University has classes or exams.
Program Hours
All classrooms operate on a Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm schedule (note: Friday child care 2-5pm is an additional cost). Please see our Child Care Service Rates for more information.
