Call for Applications: 2024 Chinese Bridge Competition

The Chinese Bridge Competition is now open for registration until Sunday, March 31, 2024.

What is the Chinese Bridge Chinese language competition?

The Chinese Bridge competition aims to have university level students demonstrate their proficiency in the Chinese language, knowledge of Chinese culture, and talent in Chinese arts. Contestants will be encouraged to continue learning Chinese, improve their proficiency in Chinese, and enhance their understanding of Chinese culture.

Sponsored by The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles and The University of Hawai‘i at Manoa’s Center for Chinese Language Education (CCLE), this round of competitions is open to university students in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Hawaii.

What do I need do in order to participate?

Students interested in participating must complete the registration form, and then:

(1) submit a video of their speech in Chinese on the topic “The World is a Family (天下一家)”
(2) submit a video of a Chinese talent performance (ex. performances of Chinese songs, folk dances, calligraphy and painting, etc.)
