The Center for Biographical Research is committed to supporting and publicizing contributions to life writing in Hawai‘i, in the nation, and around the world. In order to fulfill this mission, we publish Biography: An Interdisciplinary Quarterly—the premier scholarly journal in its field that explores the theoretical, historical, generic, cultural, and practical dimensions of life writing—and the Biography Monograph series in affiliation with University of Hawai‘i Press. We also coproduce the television documentary series Biography Hawai‘i, which focuses on residents whose lives have had a lasting impact on these islands.
