Qualifications include:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning; and a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years case management experience or human services-related experience and/or training. Must possess investigative and problem solving skills. Must have strong phone and active listening skills. Must have the ability to speak clearly, write reports, and correspondence. Duties include:
The Family Finding Specialist I conducts research to identify and locate additional family members and other kin for foster children. The Family Finding Specialist I is responsible for researching Department of Human Services (DHS) and EPIC ‘Ohana databases and other materials for pertinent information on foster children, family members and support system. The Family Finding Specialist I accesses and utilizes internet search engines, genealogy websites, social media, and other on-line sites to identify and locate potential family members. Responsible for collaborating with program manager, staff and Child Welfare Services (CWS) worker to assess and prioritize viability of contact with known and found family members. Makes phone and/or written communication to confirm the identification of potential family members, ascertain support, and possibly discover additional relatives. Compiles family lists and writes summary report for each assigned case. Utilizes effective crisis management techniques when needed. Performs other related duties, as required and assigned.

Qualifications include:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training. Experience working with children and families in the child welfare system is preferred. Excellent communication skills, in person and on the phone, are required for this position. Must be able to synthesize information in a clear and concise manner and write and speak clearly.
Ability to be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and database manipulation. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. Duties include:
The Coordinator coordinates engages families, social workers and service providers in preparation for professional, productive, efficient, respectful, compassionate and safe ʻOhana Conferences and re-conferences. Coordinators are responsible for completing all pre-conference tasks ensuring that all key participants will be attending the conference, that the purpose of the conference is clear and understood by all participants, and that the logistical aspects of the conference are planned and delivered. Responsible for completing successful scheduling of 4 conferences per week and to carry a maximum conference load of 20. Responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, all pre-conference documentation about case. Responsible for thorough, compassionate, ethical, professional and efficient telephone interviewing, of all key participants, including family and professional sources to appraise concerns and issues pertaining to the conference. Responsible for all steps as described the coordinator manual, leading to the successful scheduling of the ‘Ohana Conference or re-conference within two weeks of assignment or referral date from Social Worker or VCM Case Manager. Accurately document from all key participants, information such as concerns, dates of availability, contact information including fax number, telephone, mailing and e-mail address. Responsible for all logistical aspects of conferences including securing a site, pickup and delivery of packets, working with administrative staff to secure flights and transportation when necessary. Record or provide child care at conferences as requested or needed.
