The dance program is continuing to focus on increasing our students kinesthetic proficiency through a variety of instructional stratgies, targeted learning expereinces, mulitple methods of student evalutation and expanding our mentoring/feedback processes. 

Assessment Question: To what degree are dance students achieving kinesthetic proficiency? 

BA/BFA DANCE SLO#1: Dance Technique: kinesthetic proficiency and conceptual understanding of various kinds of dance from diverse geographic regions.

The dance program is working to provide more opportunities for dance students to engage in effective oral communication skills. 

Assessment Questions: To what degree are dance students acheiving effective oral communication skills? 

BA/BFA DANCE SLO#5/6: Literacy: Effective oral and written communication skills that demonstrate critical thinking ability and understanding of dance concepts and related topics.

7) State the type(s) of evidence gathered to answer the assessment question and/or meet the assessment goals that were given in Question #6.

For SLO#1(Dance Technique: kinesthetic proficiency and conceptual understanding of various kinds of dance from diverse geographic regions) the following activities were done to achieve the assessment goal:  

- Meetings among dance technique faculty to discuss, share and develop strategies to better support and move students towards greater kinesthetic proficiency.

For Assesment Goal #1 The evidence came from faculty and students. Eight faculty members/ instructors shared assessment tools, learning activities and instructional stratgies targeted at supporitng student growth in kinesthetic proficiency. Student evidence included video, live performance, evaluation rubrics, performance critique and self reflections. Student evidence came from seven technique classes (approx.  140 students) 

For Assessment Goal #2 Five faculty members indentified and developed targeted learning expereinces that support effectve oral communication skills.
