Yes
No (skip to question 14)5) For the period between June 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015: State the assessment question(s) and/or assessment goals. Include the student outcomes that were targeted, if applicable.
1. Assess the performance of the peer advisors and I during individual and group advising sessions.
2. Assess the performance of the peer advisors and I when we give presentations.
3. Assess the overall performance of the peer advisors, myself and the office overall.
6) State the type(s) of evidence gathered to answer the assessment question and/or meet the assessment goals that were given in Question #5.
-Online evaluation forms for individual and group advising sessions
-Paper evaluation forms for workshops
-Individual meetings with peer advisors every semester for overall performance
7) State how many persons submitted evidence that was evaluated. If applicable, please include the sampling technique used.
490 online responses were collected for individual and group advising sessions.
707 evaluation forms were collected for the workshops.
I conducted 44 individual meetings with my peer advisors.
8) Who interpreted or analyzed the evidence that was collected? Check all that apply.
Program faculty/staff member(s)
Faculty/staff committee

Director or department chairperson
Persons or organization outside the university

Compiled survey results
Used quantitative methods on student data (e.g., grades, participation rates) or other numeric data
Used qualitative methods on interview, focus group, or other open-ended response data
Scored exams/tests/quizzes
Used a rubric or scoring guide
Used professional judgment (no rubric or scoring guide used)
External organization/person analyzed data (e.g., Social Science Research Institute)
Other: 10) For the assessment questions/goals stated in Question #5, summarize the actual results.
Please see the results summary for the individual and group advising sessions as well as our workshops.
The individual meetings are discussions between the peer advisors and I.
11) What was learned from the results?
We found which topics are more popular than others in regards to advising sessions and workshops. We also learned what was valued and learned from the workshops.
During the individual meetings with the peer advisors, the peer advisors learn what works well and they need to improve upon as a peer advisor. I also learn the same areas about myself and the office.
12) State how the program used the results or plans to use the results. Please be specific.
We use the results of the sessions and workshops to determine what topics to offer for the following semester.
We use the results from the meetings to improve our impact we have on the office and improve the office by correcting misinformation and by incorporating ideas from peer advisors as to how we can better serve our students.
13) Reflect on the assessment process. Is there anything related to assessment procedures your program would do differently next time? What went well?
In the future, we will have someone who did NOT present a workshop to type up the evaluation forms for that event. In the past, we had the presenters type up the evaluation forms so they can also read the feedback about their event. However, to make sure that the most accurate and honest information is presented, we have changed our process.
14) If the program did not engage in assessment activities, please explain.
Or, if the program did engage in assessment activities, please add any other important information here.
