CTAHR's Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO) supports the following student outcomes (SO):
CTAHR graduates…
- are able to communicate orally in an effective manner. (oral communication)
- have competent analytical/problem solving skills. (analytical/problem solving)
- are able to interact with others effectively and appropriately. (human relations)
- have engaged in real world learning experiences. (“real world” experience)
The above student outcomes (SO) are part of a longer list of "10 Critical Skills and Competencies for a CTAHR Graduate."

All four SOs were targeted. In addition to the assessment tools shown in the survey map in question 3, CTAHR students and faculty were asked the following questions in two separate surveys.
For Students (rate as Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Undecided, Agree, Strongly Agree):
- I am able to communicate orally in an effective manner.
- I have competent analytical and problem solving skills.
- I am able to interact with others effectively and appropriately.
- I have engaged in real world learning experiences while a student in CTAHR.
For Faculty (rate as <20%, 20-40%, 40-60%, 60-80%, >80%):
- What percentage of CTAHR seniors approaching graduation are able to communicate orally in an effective manner?
- What percentage of CTAHR seniors approaching graduation are able to independently analyze and solve practical problems typically encountered in the professional workforce?
- What percentage of CTAHR seniors approaching graduation are able to interact with others effectively and appropriately?
- What percentage of CTAHR seniors approaching graduation have participated in real-world learning experiences?

Additionally, students and faculty were surveyed to assess the extent to which all four SOs were being met.

Performance in CTAHR Student Research Symposium: Evaluation forms of 73 judges of undergraduate and graduate oral and poster presentations were reviewed. CTAHR's Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs organizes the Student Research Symposium.
Performance by CTAHR Student Ambassadors in classroom presentations and during training: CTAHR's Instruction and Student Support Specialist led the training program. Classroom presentations are normally delivered by two students or by a student and CTAHR's Academic and Student Support Specialist.
Performance by participants of Meaningful Experience: CTAHR's Student Services Specialist led the Meaningful Experience Teambuilding and Communications activities and critique the students.
Performance by participants on various committees: CTAHR's Student Services Specialist and Instruction and Student Support Specialist supervise and evaluate students on the CTAHR NSO Planning Committee, WBICB Planning Committee, Spring Event Planning Committee, Ka Pouhana Award Selection Committee, Pookela Award Selection Committee.
Performance of students placed by CTAHR ASAO in internships and evaluations by student interns and employers: Three student interns and three employer mentors provided evaluations of the student internships arranged by ASAO.
Performance of students in project-based activities such as FSHN students working on Kulanui project and APDM Senior Fashion Show: Faculty advisors for both projects provide reports on the activities.

CTAHR students generally are meeting expectations.

Results suggest that, in general, CTAHR students are achieving the desired SOs.
13) Reflect on the assessment process. Is there anything related to assessment procedures your program would do differently next time? What went well?
Present process is somewhat subjective and does not directly measure attainment of SOs.
We will continue to seek-out more objective, direct measurements of SOs.
