9) For the assessment questions/goals stated in Question 4, summarize the actual results.

CTAHR graduates…

•      are able to communicate orally in an effective manner:  Meets or exceeds expectations

•      have competent analytical/problem solving skills:  Meets or exceeds expectations

•      are able to interact with others effectively and appropriately:  Meets or exceeds expectations

•      have engaged in real world learning experiences:  Meets or exceeds expectations

10) What was learned from the results?

Better metrics are needed to assess attainment of SLO.

Those students who were evaluated met or exceeded expectations.

Sample is small and biased.

11) State how the program used the results or plans to use the results. Please be specific.

Results were insufficient to assess attainment of SLO broadly across the college.

Alternative, more specific, process will be used in 2011-2012.

There are 12 CTAHR-related clubs/organizations that are led by undergraduate and graduate students.  In the future, we will try to involve the club representatives in the assessment process (including SLO relating to Leadership and Personal Character, which were not evaluated in 2010-2011).

12) Reflect on the assessment process. Is there anything related to assessment procedures your program would do differently next time? What went well?

Present process is subbjective and does not directly measure attainment of SLO.

More objective, direct measurements will be used next time.
