Introducing the New ACSC Team!

The Assessment Curriculum & Support Center (ACSC) recently added three new members to the ACSC Team during the Summer of 2025, including one faculty specialist and two graduate assistants. All of the new members are focused on promoting and supporting assessment in student education and bring their interests, skills, and experience to aid and benefit the Center’s mission to improve student learning through academic program assessment.

Our Faculty Specialists

Dr. Yao Z. Hill, Specialist, has been with ACSC for 13 years. Throughout her time with the Center, she has coordinated program learning assessment reporting, led institutional assessment projects, supported academic program assessment, initiated and offered numerous professional development programs, including the well-known Assessment Leadership Institute. She is a full-time faculty in ACSC and coordinates all center-related operations.

K. ʻAlohilani HN Okamura, Assistant Professor in the College of Education, has recently joined ACSC in the Summer of 2025 as a half-time Assessment Faculty Fellow. She has researched and taught on assessment and pedagogy throughout her career for many years. We are excited to have ʻAlohilani on board with the center. She will lead the center’s work on promoting culturally sustaining practices in assessment.

Our Program and Graduate Assistants

Austin Directo joined ACSC in early 2024 as a media specialist. With his background in media production and graphic design, he works to support the Center using technology and visual media.

Greg Gillis - Headshot

Greg Gillis has recently joined ACSC in July 2025 as a graduate assistant. As a Ph.D. candidate in Finance, Greg brings high efficiency, systems thinking, and analytic capacity to support the Center’s event planning, research activities, and interaction with faculty.

Bhargav Kaushik has recently joined ACSC in July 2025 as a graduate assistant. As a D.Arch candidate in Architecture, he brings his design, communication, and analytical skills to support the Center’s work in research and visual communication.
