Dr. Ricardo Trimillos is a Living Treasure

Former Asian Studies department chair Dr. Ricardo D Trimillos (Emeritus) was selected as a 2024 Hompa Hongwanji Living Treasures of Hawai’i awardee. Living Treasures of Hawai’i recognizes and honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence and high achievement in their field and have made significant contributions toward enriching society.

Dr. Trimillos is being recognized for his role as a perpetuator of Hawai‘i’s cultural, music, and artistic traditions, and international consultant on ethnomusicology.
