Bio

Whitney is a graduate of the Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health’s MSW program with a specialization in gerontology. She is a passionate social service proponent with experience working in community-based programs across a spectrum of generational, cultural, and socio-economic demographics. Her research interests include understanding motivators that influence the recruitment and retention of workers in long-term care along with models that foster meaningful intergenerational relationships. Her research seeks to inform the creation and sustaining of LTC workforce development pipelines in addition to sustainable education, policy, and outreach strategies that support indigenous ways of understanding aging and wellbeing.
