Bio

Kevin Y. Kawamoto has taught at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and University of Washington in Seattle. He also worked in media studies for an institute based at Columbia University in New York City. He was a graduate degree fellow at the East-West Center and a Crown Prince Akihito Scholar while studying in Nagoya, Japan, at Nanzan University. His M.S.W. (multigenerational social work) and Ph.D. (communications) are from the University of Washington. Today his interests span gerontological health, Japanese culture and society, and interpersonal and mediated communication. He has co-authored a variety of academic texts on the topics of communication, media, and aging.
