Everyone has access to safe, clean and timely transportation

Vision

We envision a city where everyone has access to safe, clean and timely transportation island wide.

People are able to choose their preferred mode of transportation, whether it’s walking, biking, driving, or specialized transport such as The Handi-Van.

It is easy to get where you want to go, even without a car. Public transportation is clean and safe, and streets are designed for all types of users.

Goals

Safe, maintained roadway infrastructure.

Increased level of safety for all bicyclists.

Measure 1: Motor Vehicle Collision Death Rate

The rate of older adults (55+) in Honolulu County that died from a motor vehicle collision has decreased over the years.
Males 55+ in Honolulu County experience a higher motor vehicle collision death rate compared to females.
In general, the motor vehicle collision death rate increases with age group for those 55+.
