Due to staff availability, we may not offer proctoring on certain days and our hours proctoring hours will periodically change semester to semester. We operate at appointment only, instructions found in the “student procedures” section below. Walk-ins not accepted.
Exam check-in is at the Sinclair Library front desk (Information Concierge Desk). It is recommended you show up at the allotted time rather than too early to not conflict with potential other test takers check in time.
If you are running late, feel free to call (808) 956-5656 to let them know. Regardless of how long the allotted test time is, we will NOT proctor past our scheduled proctoring hours for that day; even with advance notice given.
If you must reschedule an exam but the date range for the exam has passed or will pass, you MUST contact your professor to submit another proctoring request to accommodate you. SSC can not open up a test past its scheduled date ranges without professor permission.
If you have any non-immediate questions, comments, or concerns please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The SSC Testing Center does not offer proctoring for non-UH distance learning exams. For help finding an exam proctor for a non-UH exam go here. For subject placement tests, please contact your department.
*Note: If your exam does not appear on the list, please email your instructor first to send us the course information, dates, exam number, and appropriate form within 2 business days of the opening date. Specify the campus, the University of Hawai’i at Manoa Student Success Center at Sinclair Library.
Just a heads up UH Testing Centers collaborated to update the fillable form so it does look a bit different than previous semesters but it is a system-wide change and not a UHM specific change.
An area of importance, be sure to have a date range where students may sign up to take the exam. It is pretty normal to have the exam open for about a week then students are able to sign up for whatever proctoring time slot suits their needs.
It is highly unusual and not recommended for a distance learning course to mandate students to be in an exact time and place for an exam since students distance learning courses may be taken from any campus and due to limited spaces at proctoring centers.
SSC will not download additional software to our computers in order for students to take exams on our computers. If additional software is required and the student has it on their personal laptop, we are able to proctor and monitor the student while they take the exam on their own laptops.
You will receive an email confirmation once we have the exam in our system. 🙂
Before checking-in, you must review our policies and procedures. Know your UH login information, exam number, exam website, and any rules/ restrictions before entering the proctoring room and starting the exam.
Failure to do so may result in suspension of privileges and your Professor may be contacted.
To find where we are located, please view the maps page.
