What recreation opportunities are there?

Get Fit and Have Fun

There are many opportunities to maintain personal health and fitness at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. You can stop by the University Fitness Center with a validated student identification card or participate in informal recreational activities on the university’s various athletic facilities. You can also check out the Student Recreation Services’ Schedule of Events if you are interested in later-evening sporting activities with other students.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa also provides the university community with a variety of fitness and wellness classes, some of which include: Zumba, HULAerobics, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga.

The Student Recreation Services office is located in the Physical Education/Athletic Complex, Room 200.  They are open Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. You can also call them at (808)-956-6468 or (808)-956-7694.

Intramural Sports and Recreational Sports

If you are interested in participating in team sports, join an intramural sports team. The University of Hawaii at Manoa offers a variety of different intramural teams, including: flag football, basketball, outdoor futsal, and volleyball. Best of all, intramural teams get to use the university’s state of the art facilities. Dates and registration can be found at the Student Recreation Services website.

Off Campus Recreational Activities

If you’re interested in participating in all of the outdoor recreational activities living in Hawaii has to offer, Student Recreation Services provides reasonably priced, quality activities. Approximately 10,000 individuals participate annually in the Campus Center Leisure Program, 60% students and 40% non-students. All classes are non-credit and are geared strictly to zero-stress learning and fun.
You can also rent outdoor and sporting equipment for a reasonable price through Student Recreation Services.

Attend University of Hawaii Sporting Events

The University of Hawaii at Manoa participates in NCAA Division I athletics. As a University of Hawaii at Manoa student you have the opportunity to get tickets to any of the sporting events offered with a validated student identification card.
