Students must submit a digital copy (on CD, flash drive, or by email attachment) of their Senior Honors Project to the Honors Program office by the announced due date in order that it can be reviewed by the Honors Council. The Senior Honors Project is the most important component of the Honors Council’s assessment of your work for the Honors designation. Please make sure that follow our instructions carefully.
All thesis pages must:

  • be single-sided pages
  • have 1” margins on all sides
  • be 12 point font
  • be double-spaced (single-spaced for block quotations)

1)    Cover page
The cover page is aligned center and is not paginated. Please see provided sample for required formatting and information.

2)    Acknowledgements (optional)
The acknowledgements page should be paginated using lower-case Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, etc.). We strongly recommend students to thank their Senior Honors Project committee here.

3)    Abstract
The maximum number of words is 250 and should be paginated using lower-case Roman numerals (i, ii, iii). Please include two to three keywords.

4)    Table of Contents
Chapters and sections should be listed in the Table of Contents and must correspond with those in the main body of the Senior Honors Project. The Table of Contents page should be paginated using lower-case Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, etc.).

5)    List of Tables and/or Figures (optional)
Students that use these should include a List of Tables and/or Figures. They must refer to correct numbers and titles of tables and figures in the main body. This page should be paginated using lower-case Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, etc.).

6)    Main Body
In the main body, follow the established style manual, which may be one of the main styles (APA, Chicago, Harvard, MLA, etc.) or one appropriate to your discipline or even a particular journal.  Students should check with their thesis advisor.

  • Numerical pagination should begin with first page of your project (1, 2, 3, etc.).
  • Place tables and figures in body of text as appropriate with proper labeling and attribution.

7)    Appendix
Place supplementary materials and other documents here, if necessary (surveys, interview questions, etc.). This page should be paginated using numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.)

8)    Bibliography and/or Work Cited
The Bibliography and/or Work Cited should be paginated using numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) and must be consistent with your chosen formatting style.

Please see provided sample for required formatting and information.
