Hey guys! My name is Adam Guzman and I am a current Junior majoring in
Biology following the pre-medicine track. I am originally from Arizona, but
have lived in Hawaiʻi for the last 4 years and graduated from Mililani High.
I love spending my free time outside of the library and at the beach,
surfing or hiking around the island!

My name is Joyce and I am a junior majoring in Accounting, Management,
and Human Resource Management. This is my second year being an ACE
program peer mentor and I sincerely appreciate this chance to serve all of you.
I am actively involved with several on-campus student organizations and have
studied aboard through the Manoa International Exchange program, so please
feel free to let me know if you have any questions or interest in those opportunities.
Looking forward, I also hope to further develop myself as a leader and add more

Cali Born, Hawaii Raised. Down to earth, always open to listen and
give advice. Kind of an adrenaline seeker. I like to hike, beach, etc.
Treat others better than how you'd want to be treated is the rule I live by.
Also I'm musically inclined, meaning I'm into music, but not very
good at playing.

Bio: This is my second year as an ACE Peer mentor! This fall will be my final semester at UH Mānoa. I am a biology major but am very interested in the marine side of the field. I am currently working in a lab at HIMB (Coconut Island) doing work finding land based pollutants in fish and the sediment that the consume. I spend every free second that I have surfing with my friends, spear fishing, or SCUBA diving!

I am from Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu. I love to go to the
beach and go hiking. I am currently a senior majoring in Biology.
I plan to go to medical school to become a doctor after graduating.

My name is Jacqueline, but everyone calls me Jackie. I come from a military family, so I
have moved around my whole life. I have 4 younger siblings and I’m the first traditional
student in my family. This will be my last year at UH, and I plan on graduating in May 2019
with a BA in Human Resource Management and a minor in Communicology. Some other
fun facts about me is that: I love Disney, documentaries, and I’m always down for the beach.

I am a pre-med senior at UH Manoa. I love volleyball, ping-pong,
board games, and pretty much anything else that involves
being sweaty, wild, and competitive. I would watch the sun all day

Hi! My name is Ashley Deinla. I am currently a junior studying Kinesiology- Health
and Exercise Science. A little about me, my hobbies include hiking, going to the beach,
going to the gym, surfing Pinterest for ideas, and journaling. I am a Residential
Assistant in Frear Hall so find me working desk shifts. Please don't be afraid to say hi!

Sarah Champayn LookSection 1

Hometown: Waipahu, Hawai'i

Aloha e haumāna! Congratulations on graduating high school and welcome
to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. My name is Sarah and I am ecstatic to
be on this journey with you! I am currently a Music Major and will be graduating
in the Fall 2018. I play clarinet and currently student-teach Marching Band at various
local high schools. Catch me at the Warrior Rec Center working out, or playing
volleyball on Tuesdays and Thursdays! I also serve as the Provisional Membership
Director for the Phi Mu Iota Alpha Chapter. I am a BIG foodie, and love to eat anything
besides papayas and cantaloupes (I'm allergic). Hiking and kicking it at the beach with
my family and friends are also some personal favorites. As a dog person, I especially
have a soft spot for rottweilers or samoyeds. Lastly, I am weak for corny jokes.The more
the cheesier, the better!! Have a great rest of the summer and I look forward to having
you in my class! A hui hou.

Hometown: Fairbanks, Alaska

Hey guys! My name is Anna Freeman and I actually went through the ACE
Program my freshman year at Manoa, and loved it! I grew up playing multiple
sports: Hockey, Club Soccer, Volleyball, and Basketball. In my free time I enjoy
to cook, go on hikes, surf, go to the gym, volunteer at the Lo'i Patch, and of
course play intramural soccer. Staying active in the community is important to
me, and I really try to help people when ever I can with enthusiasm, energy, and
positivity. I'm excited for this next school year, and I can't wait to meet my group
of incoming freshman!

I was born and raised on Oahu and I graduated from Kamehameha Schools
in 2015. I always liked to solve problems growing up and I felt that I would
use this passion to pursue an engineering degree at UH Manoa. Hopefully
when I graduate in next Spring I can apply my Civil Engineering degree
towards helping the home that I grew up in.

Bio: Hello! You can call me J if that's easier. I am from sunny SoCal, but have
lived on the island for the past 4 years. This is my second rodeo with college.
I had previously attended UCI (Go Anteaters) as a Mathematics major. After that,
I then joined the Navy for 6 years, which luckily brought me to Hawaii. Now I'm a
transfer student here at UH Manoa and just finished my first year. Besides school,
I enjoy exploring the island through hiking and eating. I also love to volunteer
in my spare time.

Hi, my name is Ivan. I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. I am
currently a junior majoring in B.S Biology. My hobbies include diving,
surfing, fishing, and baseball. My favorite subject in school is chemistry
(even though I'm a biology major). I love food, but at the same time
I'm a very picky eater because there are many things that I don't like.
My career goal is to become a pediatric anesthesiologist. I want to work
here in the future because I love my home and I can't picture myself
living anywhere else.

Marine Biology. Last summer, I studied abroad in Annecy, France.
This year, I am a senior here at UH, and after graduation I hope
to go back to France to teach English for a year before going to

My name is Taylor Pu'uohau and I was born and raised in Kaimuki, HI.
I graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 2016 and have been a
student at UH since. When I was a freshman I was also a mentee in a
Pre-Health cluster. I currently work in the Office of the VP for Research
and Innovation on campus and help conduct research at the Tropical
Medicine Lab at JABSOM.

from Kalani High School in 2016. I am currently a junior

Though I was born and raised in the Sacramento area, I moved to
O’ahu in my junior year of high school and graduated at Kaiser
High School in 2014. I am pursuing a B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology
here at UH Mānoa in hopes to become a pediatrician. In my spare time,
I love to travel, hike, swim, be with my family, and explore as much of
the islands as I can!

Kevyn Keokolo Malaqui YokoteSection 1

I am a senior. I live in Palolo. I like to free dive spearfish, pole fish,
hike, camp, and anything else outdoors! I also like video games, movies,
and chocolate. I have lived in Kula, Maui, Hawaii all my life. I attended the
University of Oregon for one semester, then transferred to UH Manoa. I
have one cat, one chicken, and 15 fish.

Sydney Brie Unciano

Major: Microbiology
Hometown: Aiea, Hawai'i

Aloha everyone. My name is Sydney not Cindy like Sydney from
Sydney Australia. I am from the city of Aiea, A I E A, a city with only
vowels in its name. I am approaching my senior year here at UH Manoa
as a Microbiology student. Upon graduating, I want to pursue an MPH and
attend medical school. I consider myself to be a bit of an energizer bunny,
so please please do not offer me coffee or pre workout supplements to start
my day, instead I just like to run a couple miles in the morning just so I can
study in the library for a few hours to get some productive studying in. Running,
sleep, ice-cream and shave ice are like the sugar, spice, and everything nice that
I need to get my degree. Well I hope to see you folks around, and please feel
free to ask or approach me about anything.
