Aloha Potential Tax Volunteers,
We will be offering free of charge tax preparation services to our UH Manoa students and general community from February 9, 2016 though April 8, 2016. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays will be by appointment only 10am – 4pm. Walk ins as well as appointments will be accepted on Wednesdays 10am – 8pm and Saturdays from 9am -1pm.
In order to volunteer you must pass a few online multiple choice certification tests. Training is mostly self-study using the modules at IRS VITA/TCE Central
. Supplementary training will be offered on Saturday, January 23rd and 30th from 9am – 3pm. A limited number of training kits are available in our office (QLC 209). You should complete the paper test (in training kit) first before attempting the online certification test as you only have two attempts to pass with a score of 80% or higher. When you have passed the certification tests you should print and sign your Volunteer Agreement form to submit to the site coordinator at your volunteer site.
Hours spend training and volunteering may be counted towards the Manoa Service Award as well as active status credit for certain RIO’s.
