Holland Interests

Step 1 Instructions: To help you find your area of interest, select a Holland Interest group below by reading through each of the six boxes.  Once you have found an interest group that you feel you belong to, hover your mouse over the group’s box to reveal what kind of person you are.  Click on the group’s box for a description of your selection and options to help you proceed through this exploration process.

This exercise is based on Dr. John Holland’s theory that people and work environments can be classified into six general groups: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.  Each of these groups shows your potential interests as a: Do-er, Thinker, Creator, Helper, Persuader, and Organizer.
