Help

This website is designed to help you find a major based on your areas of interest.  There are a few paths you can take while searching through this website.  Here they are described below:

Path 1: I found my interest area

Step 1: Explore the Areas of Interest and see if you can find a major that interests you

Step 2: If you’ve figured out which interest area fits you best, go to the Decision Making page and select, “I have decided on my interest area.”

Path 2: I need some help finding my interest area

Step 1: Explore the Areas of Interest and see if you can find a major that interests you

Step 2: If you have looked through all the Areas of Interest and still cannot find one that fits you best, go to the Decision Making page and select, “I need additional guidance to select my interest area.”

Step 3: You should now be at the Holland Interest page.  Here you can select one of the six interest group categories; realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional.  Select an interest group by clicking on one of the six panels.  This will display the kind of person related to that interest category.  Once you have determined if you are a do-er, thinker, creator, helper, persuader, or an organizer you can read the description near the bottom of the page explaining their characteristics.  If you agree that this is you, proceed to the suggested area of interest using the link provided.

If you are satisfied with the area of interest you have selected, go to the Decision Making page again and select, “I have decided on my interest area.”

Path 3: I want to explore a little bit more

Step 1: Explore the Areas of Interest and see if you can find a major that interests you

Step 2: If you haven’t found an area of interest at this time and would like to take some time to explore more, go to the Decision Making page and select, “I don’t want to select an interest area, I am completely exploratory.”
