How to Apply for the Scholarship

Eligibility: To receive the Connections to Teaching Careers Scholarship, you must be:
1) admitted into the Math/Science OPBCSE program;
2) a U.S. citizen or resident alien;
3) able to meet the requirements of the scholarship agreement.

Instructions: To apply for the scholarship, download the scholarship application (PDF*) and follow the instructions.
*PDF requires appropriate software such as Adobe's free Acrobat Reader.

Scholarship application deadline will vary according to when you are admitted into the program.

How to Apply to the OPBCSE Program

Eligibility: To be accepted into the OPBCSE program, applicants must have a bachelor's degree and demonstrate competency in Math or Science (see PRAXIS information below).

If you have questions about the application process and/or to request an application packet, contact the Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS), by email to osas@hawaii.edu or call (808) 956-7849, or go OSAS's How to Apply webpage.

Program application deadline is September 1, 2009.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements include a minimum grade point average, hours of group leadership experience with secondary-age youth, and competencies. See program brochure and the UH College of Education's Admissions Criteria (see PBCSE) for details.

PRAXIS

To be accepted into the program, applicants must have received a passing score on each of the PRAXIS I (PPST) and PRAXIS II (Content) tests. See ETS PRAXIS Test Requirements.

Important: PRAXIS Testing Dates:
PRAXIS I (PPST): Computerized and paper versions are available. See the ETS PRAXIS website for information.
PRAXIS II available: September 12*, 2009.
*Because this test date is after the OPBCSE Program Application deadline, consult with COE Advisors at osas@hawaii.edu or (808) 956-7849 before registering for the September 12th PRAXIS II test.

Laptop Computer

Applicants must have their own laptop computer to participate in the program. Read the ITE Laptop Initiative of the COE.
