Q - Is there financial support for tuition and other program-related costs?
A - Admitted students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents may apply for a scholarship (up to $9,000) through a federally funded grant project.
Q - Can I apply for the scholarship even though I haven't heard about the status of my OPBCSE application?
A -
Yes. We encourage you to apply early.
Q - When will I receive the scholarship?
A - Scholarship awardees will receive their funds once per semester, after the tuition payment deadline. Please ensure that you meet the payment deadline, otherwise you will be dropped from your courses. Generally, the payment tuition deadline is the first day of class. Please be sure to properly plan and allow adequate lead time of the deadlines if you are seeking financial assistance from other sources such as financial aid, scholarships, etc.
Q - How much will I receive each semester?
A - The scholarship funding is based on the percentage of credits being taken each semester in comparison to the entire program. For example: The entire program requires 37 credits and the first semester consists of 7 credits. Therefore, 7/37 or approximately 19% will be disbursed, which equals to $1,710. A - The scholarship will come in the form of a stipend check and it will not be automatically credited to your UH account.
