Student Success Center
The Student Sucess Center is located in the Sinclair Library Commons. The center offers academic workshops, tutoring, and peer assisted study sessions. They also provide initial screening and support to cope with learning disabilities. Services are free of charge and include:

  • Tutoring Services
    Tutoring is offered for a variety of subjects. Sessions last about one hour. Appointments can be scheduled online.

  • Writing Center
    The writing center provides writing support services for students and faculty.

  • Freshman Advising & First Years Programs
    Support for incoming freshman is offered to help connect students with various academic and other on-campus resources that help guide students through their first year at UH Manoa. Call (808) 956-8626 or email: freshman@hawaii.edu for more information.

Student Support Services
Student Support Services provides one-on-one academic advising, as well as personal and career information. Advisers will help students create a concrete graduation plan and talk about plans after they graduate whether it is starting a career or thinking about graduate school.

The office is located in room 114 Krauss Hall, accross the street from Law school library. Appointments can be made in advance in person, telephone, or on a walk-in basis. Phone: (808) 956-8402.

OLA - Online Learning Academy
The Online Learning Academy offers FREE writing, math and science tutoring services. Tutoring services are available Monday - Saturday from 8am-10pm. Visit the website to schedule a free online appointment. For more information call (808) 956-3714 or email: ola@hawaii.edu.

OLA also provides FREE online math and science tutoring for all Hawaii Department of Education K-12 and University of Hawaii system students. Learning Emporium
The Learning Emporium is a one-stop resource center in the College of Natural Sciences for introductory study in Math, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Undergraduate and graduate student tutors are available to assist students with completing class assignments. Located in the Bilger Addition, Rm 209. UH Manoa Library Resource Guide
An online resource compiled by a librarian that has many useful tips on writing a well-sourced and correctly documented paper.

BrainFuse: Live Help and Writing Lab (transfer students from UHCC's only)
Online tutoring featuring “Live Help” and “Writing Lab” that allows you to submit your class papers for feedback. To login, go to the Website and enter: Username (FirstnameLastname) and Password (Your student ID#)

Khan Academy
Online education services available anytime for anyone. The program provides micro lectures in the form of YouTube videos covering topics including: Math, Science, Economics & Finance, Arts & Humanities, Computer programming, and general Test Prep. Manoa Advising Center (MAC)
This center serves as a first point of contact for incoming freshmen and first semester transter students, providing basic advising, referral, registration and informational assistance. It is located in QLCSS Rm 101. Appointments are scheduled on a same day basis, in person or by phone (808) 956-7273. Phone calls are limited to appointment scheduling.

Arts & Sciences Advising
For students pursing Arts & Sciences degrees/majors, this center can help clarify degree requirements and provide assistance with developing education plans and life and career goals. Visit their website, or call 956-8755, ext#1 to schedule a same day appointment.

Academic advising services are also available through your college or school and, in some cases, your department. Click on the links for a list of Academic Departments, or for contact information for each of the College Advising Offices.

KOKUA Program
Program serves students with learning, physical, psychiatric and other documented disabilities. KOKUA provides disability access services to individuals on a case-by-case basis, FREE of charge.

Need a Place to Print?
Students may print at the Social Sciences Computer Labs (MAC: Saunders 342 & 635; Crawford 114, 212, 220). Each student enrolled in a social sciences course has a $25 credit for printing. Students need to sign-in with IT staff and provide their UH ID at initial visit. There are also printers available at the libraries (need pre-paid print card).
