Vivek Murthy

Dr. Vivek H. Murthy was the 19th United States Surgeon General. The son of Indian immigrants, Murthy received MD and MBA degrees from Yale and taught internal medicine at Harvard. His research on vaccine development and clinical trials has been published in Science and the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Murthy co-founded VISIONS, an HIV education program, and Swasthya, a community health partnership for women in rural India. In the private sector, Murthy co-founded and chaired TrialNetworks, which enhances the efficiency of clinical trials.
