SPAS Alumnus Trekking to Combat Human Trafficking in Northern Thailand

In March 2018 SPAS Alum Micah Pexa will be attempting a through hike of the Appalachian Trail – 2200 miles from Georgia to Maine – for 5-6 months. He is doing this as a fundraiser hike to support an anti-human trafficking NGO in northern Thailand called Friends of Thai Daughters.

This NGO preemptively takes at-risk girls from the villages in the north and brings them to live safely in a house in Chiang Rai. Then they pay for the girls to go to school all the way up through university to get their lives going in a better direction.

Micah has created a website for his trip that and a GoFundMe account to raise money for the NGO. He is self-funding his hike.
