University of Hawaii at Manoa

Short Term in Hawai‘i Program

Experience Asia and the Pacific Islands…without a passport

The University of Hawai‘i is one of the foremost institutions in the U.S. for the study of Asia and the Pacific. We host National Resource Centers for East Asia and Southeast Asia, and the only National Resource Center for the Pacific Islands in the United States. Our faculty span many disciplines, allowing us to provide programs on virtually any area of study.

Hawai‘i itself is a unique destination in the world, and we encourage programs to explore more about it. People are often attracted to this place by its natural beauty, but there is so much more to learn about the history and culture of these islands.

The Short-term in Hawai‘i program provides a “study-almost-abroad” experience tailored to your curriculum interests and needs. Please consider the three broadly themed programs we offer, or feel free to inquire about other topics you would like your students to study. The program provides all arrangements for you once you arrive: airport pick-up and drop-off, housing, meal plans, lectures, field trips and administrative support. We will take care of all the logistical arrangements once you are in Hawai‘i, allowing you to concentrate on your course and your students.

Please browse our website for further information about the Short-term in Hawai‘i program, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
