Smoke-Free Areas

This initiative covers the following areas:

  1. All interior space owned, rented, or leased by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, academic and administrative buildings, residence halls, athletic facilities and parking structures.
  2. All outdoor areas, parking lots, grounds, eating areas, rooftops, plazas, courtyards, entrance and exit ways, agricultural facilities, and any other areas of the university campuses.
  3. Within all University owned, rented or leased vehicles and private vehicles while on campus.

Courtesy Zone:

A surrounding area where polite behavior that shows respect for other people including standing off campus facing away to ensure smoke is not blowing onto university grounds and to ensure no litter is left behind.
