Title

LS2: Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics

Core Idea

LS2:  Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics

LS2.A: Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems
LS2.B: Cycles of Matter and Energy Transfer in Ecosystems
LS2.C: Ecosystem Dynamics, Functioning, and Resilience
LS2.D: Social Interactions and Group Behavior

In LS2: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics Relationship in Ecosystem, performance expectations are designed for students to create an understanding of how living and non-living components of an ecosystem interact and are utilized by organisms. Students should understand how matter and energy flow through ecosystems and how biotic and abiotic factors are interrelated.

5-LS2-1 Develop a model to describe the movement of matter among plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment.
