What is HOSA?

HOSA is a national organization with a chapter at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The UH Manoa chapter strives to provide its members with as many health education and volunteer opportunities as possible. We want to motivate and encourage our members to continue developing both their knowledge and technical skills.

The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.

The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.

A Message from the President

Aloha HOSA members! I’m glad to see so many of you eager for the new academic year! I hope our new members are ready to dive in and take advantage of what HOSA at UHM has to offer and hope our returning members are ready for new challenges that the year may bring. This year, the Executive Board has planned fun and exciting events such as community service, fundraisers, and socials for our members! I advise you to take full advantage of these opportunities when they present themselves. As you prepare for your events I wish you good luck and happy studying! -- Chelsie Smyth, President 2014 - 2015
