The RIDLLE Group

As researchers of second language learning, we are passionate about the wise use of technology and its integration with content, pedagogy, and culture. We strive to understand how language works in context and how contextualization shapes language and language learning processes and methods. Like guānxi, we see this as a reciprocal process that can be understood through values-realizing, a perspective which emerged as part of the Distributed Language Movement in third-wave cognitive sciences. This particular wave of cognitive science situated language and cognition in the relational dynamics of sociological, ecological, and biological environments, providing a radical, co-constitutive view that insinuates instructors and learners into a greater holistic learning environment made seamless through the mindful application of technology.
