Students who are seeking to fulfill community service hours for scholarship or personal purposes are welcome to join our programs as volunteer staff.
Our department has also provided supportive internships for students who wish to gain experience in student programming, outreach coordination, and university careers. We host an average of 2-3 interns per semester, and internships are provided on a first come, first served basis.

You will be added to a volunteer listserv and will receive an average of 1-2 emails per month that outlines upcoming work.
Volunteer work can range from opportunities to mentor high school students on campus, aloha ‘āina outdoor work, public speaking practice on college panels, participation in skill building leadership sessions, program planning/support for community events.

Additionally, our volunteers also gain access to leadership development sessions hosted by NHSS. An average of 2-3 leadership sessions are scheduled per semester. In the past topics have included: oli & protocol, team building activities, study tips, personal statements & resume writing.
