HONOLULU — Don Goo, FAIA, former chairman and current senior vice president of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG), an international architecture firm headquartered in Honolulu, has joined the faculty of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa School of Architecture as professor and director of practicum. A principal of WATG since 1968, Goo has been a mainstay in extending the firm‘s reach and influence internationally. Among his many notable projects throughout the Asia-Pacific region are the Hawaiʻi Convention Center and the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Previously an adjunct faculty of the school, Goo has served in several major roles, including advisor for the new first-in-nation professional doctoral program to prepare graduates for leadership positions with a focus on Asia-Pacific practices. The innovative UH architecture program was recently accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board in July, 2004.

Goo will be responsible for coordinating the school's off-campus professional leadership practicum program which consists of more than 40 CEO-level principal architects who serve as mentors for students placed in their respective international offices located in major cities around the world. The program was previously directed by Joyce Noe, associate dean of the School of Architecture.

"We are indeed fortunate to have a distinguished practicing architect of Don Goo's stature to help develop this important program of the school," said Raymond Yeh, dean of the School of Architecture."
