University of Hawai'i at Mānoa’s Lyon Arboretum will hold its annual Holiday Plant and Craft Sale on Saturday, November 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be the weekend before Thanksgiving and it will be a great opportunity to buy unique gifts for the holidays. Admission is free.

The various nurseries attending the sale will be selling colorful ti varieties, Hawaiian plants and native ferns, anthuriums, heliconias, gingers, orchids, tillandsias and other bromeliads, carnivorous plants, cactus and succulents, vegetable, fruit and herb plants as well as UH variety vegetable seeds and many other plants for homes and gardens. 

Arboretum volunteers from Hui Hana Lei will sell beautiful, one of a kind fresh and dried holiday wreaths, as well as homemade ornaments, oshibana crafts and succulent pumpkins. There will also be Hawaiian honey for sale—all perfect for gift giving. 

Proceeds from the sale help to support Lyon Arboretum programs.

Event parking

There will be no parking available at Lyon Arboretum, except for individuals with official Disability Parking Placards.

The general public is asked to park legally in the surrounding Mānoa neighborhood and either walk up to the sale or take advantage of the free shuttle service offered by the arboretum. The shuttle service will have pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Po‘elua Street and Mānoa Road, and Nipo Street and Mānoa Road.

Lyon Arboretum is located at 3860 Manoa Road and the general hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and state holidays. During the Plant Sale, all trails and gardens not in the immediate vicinity of the sale will be closed-off to visitors.
