HONOLULU – The University of Hawai‘i will be showcased at the State Capitol on Tuesday, March 13th, from 9 to 11 a.m. as part of the annual Hawai‘i State Senate Education Week celebration.
 
University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa coaches and athletic department members will be on hand to meet and greet legislators, staff members and the public, and to participate in a special “Punt, Pass, Kick” competition.
 
Staff from the 10 campuses of the University of Hawai‘i System will be in attendance with displays highlighting campus programs and students from the Kapi‘olani Community College culinary arts program will provide cooking demonstrations and samples.
 
At 11:30 a.m., UH President M.R.C. Greenwood and UH Head Football Coach Norm Chow will participate in a special Senate floor presentation. Greenwood will accept a certificate congratulating the UH Commission on the Status of Women on its 25th anniversary, and Chow will be recognized as the new head coach of the UH Warrior football team.
 
Organized by the Hawai‘i State Senate Committee on Education, Education Week is an annual interactive celebration that recognizes achievements and innovations by local schools, educators, students and programs across the state.
