Campus community invited to fold origami cranes, sign messages of support

UH Mānoa student volunteers will staff tables at the Campus Center, Shidler College of Business and Moore Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, March 17 and 18, in a show of support for natural disaster relief efforts in Japan after its devastating earthquake and tsunami.
 
At these special tables, volunteers from the International Student Association and International Business Organization, as well as other student organizations, will 1) coordinate the folding of 1,000 origami paper cranes and writing of messages of support, with these symbolic gestures of goodwill to be shared with the Consul General of Japan in Honolulu, and 2) collect monetary donations for the Japan Relief Fund, which will be relayed to the American Red Cross, Hawai‘i State Chapter.
