Hawaiʻi P-20 launches College Awareness Month

Hawaiʻi P-20 Partnerships for Education is proud to partner with the Hawai‘i Department of Education, University of Hawai‘i and a number of community partners to celebrate January as “College Awareness Month.” January is an important planning month for students heading to college, as applications for college admissions, scholarships and financial aid are due. It is also a good time to promote early awareness about the importance and accessibility of going to college.

Throughout the month Hawai‘i P-20 will coordinate a multi-media campaign which includes television, radio and print ads focused on college and career readiness. This campaign is made possible by our generous sponsors: GEAR UP Hawai‘i, University of Hawai‘i Federal Credit Union, University of Hawai‘i Community Colleges and The Learning Coalition.

On January 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hawai‘i P-20 and Pearlridge Center will present a college fair at Pearlridge Center Uptown. Students and parents are invited to meet with college admission experts from the University of Hawai‘i campuses, Hawai‘i Pacific University, Chaminade and Brigham Young University. There will also be information on financial aid and how to apply for scholarships.
