After a semester of preparation, Leeward Community College’s Intermediate Photography class exhibits their work in “The World in 2D,” a showcase of the various projects assigned to the class.  The show opens on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, in the Foyer Art Gallery, AD 107. The exhibit continues through November 17.  Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“I think the level of quality is really high because a lot of my students are already working professionals or freelance photographers,” says Instructor Wayne Muromoto.  “These guys do stuff that just blows my mind away.”

The students are Wendy Thompson, Jeff Cox, Fiona St. Pierre, Lana Hawelu, Avery Nerveza, Jared Cortez, Bob Darrow, Kessler Pihana, and Robert Pascua.

Breathtaking landscapes, dramatic lighting effects, and tributes to legendary photographers are some examples of the works in the show.  Every assignment was designed to push students out of their comfort zones and make them better photographers.  Students also used software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as editing tools to enhance their images.
