The Health Promotion Office of University Health Services at Mānoa is excited to sponsor the 2010 Condom Fair. It will be held on Friday, February 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi Campus Center Mall. The Health Promotion Office anticipates approximately 2,000 students to attend this year’s Condom Fair.

The purpose of the Condom Fair is to promote a healthier lifestyle, through the appropriate and consistent use of condoms, healthy sexual decision-making, and good communication. The Condom Fair is not meant to promote sexual activity, however for students who do choose to be sexually active; condoms are the safest way to protect against sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies. The Condom Fair 2010 aims to educate students about healthy relationships in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

This year, participants for Condom Fair 2010 include Planned Parenthood, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, Waikīkī Health Center, Waimanalo Health Center, Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi, UH Women’s Center, UH Counseling & Development Center. Local radio stations Island Rhythm 98.5 and Power 104.3 will provide entertainment. Condom Fair 2010 will offer free massages and educational activities such as the condom race and “Pin the Condom on Jack.” Prizes and giveaways are available including condoms, condom lollipops, lubricant, candy, and other fun Valentine’s Day items.
