The UH Mānoa Student Housing Services office announces a traffic alert for the three-day Mānoa Move-In 2009, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, Friday, Aug. 21, which is a state holiday (Admissions Day), and Saturday, Aug. 22. The moving-in process for UH Mānoa students living in campus residence halls and apartments will start at 9 a.m. on all three days, and may affect traffic on Dole Street.

Motorists are advised to be especially vigilant along Dole Street due to the increased traffic activity, and frequent stopping or slowing of cars.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, students will begin moving into rooms in Hale Aloha Mokihana, Hale Aloha Ilima, Hale Laulima, Hale Kawahai, Frear Hall and Johnson Hall.

Please note that on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the east-bound lane of Dole Street fronting residence halls will be coned off to assist with active unloading. No parking will be allowed along Dole Street during moving hours. In addition, during the rush hour from 3:30-6 p.m., HPD officers and Freeman Guards will not allow vehicular stopping or unloading along Dole Street fronting Johnson Hall.

From 6 p.m. on, Freeman Guards will allow brief vehicular stopping and brief unloading along Dole Street fronting the residence halls. While the lane will not be coned off, cars will stop at their own risk. A no-parking policy will be strictly enforced.

On Friday, Aug. 21, residents of the Hale Wainani and Hale Noelani apartments and Gateway House will move in.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, residents of Hale Anuenue and Frear Hall will move in.

Classes for the Fall 2009 semester resume Monday, Aug. 24.
