Robert Jones, one of two finalists for president of the University of Hawaiʻi, is withdrawing his candidacy.

Jones is senior vice president for system academic administration at the University of Minnesota. He and M.R.C. Greenwood of the University of California at Davis were selected as finalists by the University of Hawaiʻi Advisory Presidential Selection Committee.

We are disappointed with his decision, but wish him well.

The regents are planning to reconvene later this week, and determine how best to proceed.
