Lyon Arboretum announces new classes

Green gardening, Hawaiian crafts, flower arranging, and children‘s classes to be offered

HONOLULU — The Lyon Arboretum announces a schedule of new classes for adults and children interested in all things botanical. Workshops on invasive plants, organic gardening, traditional Hawaiian crafts, flower arranging, garden photography, field sketching & nature journaling, oshibana and more will be offered at Lyon Arboretum.

A special set of children‘s classes are also scheduled for early October to keep children active, learning and having fun during the fall break when they are not in school.

Registration for classes is now open. Class size is limited, so enroll early. To view the class schedule, visit www.hawaii.edu/lyonarboretum. To register for classes, call 988-0461.

The Lyon Arboretum is open Monday — Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Arboretum is closed on state and federal holidays.

Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre rainforest botanical garden administered by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
