The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo North Hawaiʻi Education and Research Center (NHERC) invites the public to a class featuring six documentary films about the Iraq war. The class runs on Mondays from February 25 through March 31 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the site of the old Honoka‘a hospital.

The films will examine political events preceding the war, management of the war effort, economic interests that benefited from the conflict, as well as the American media coverage of the war. A moderated discussion will follow each film to allow the audience to discuss their reactions to the film, their views on the war, its impact on their lives and on American society.

Films in the series include Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War; Rush to War; Why We Fight; The Ground Truth; Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers; and Buying the War.

The cost is $20 with a $5 discount for OLLI members. For more information, or to register, call (808) 775-8890.
