UH Manoa‘s Hamilton Library launches 24-hour, Monday-Friday service starting this week, in response to student requests.

The extended hours service is for UH students, faculty and staff. Patrons entering the building after 11 p.m. will be asked to show a valid UH ID card to security guards. Patrons without a valid UH ID will be asked to leave the building from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. These measures are to maintain a secure study space for UH students, faculty and staff, and are in conjunction with the UH Mānoa campus commitment to maintain a safe and thriving place of learning.

The long-awaited service was approved by the Legislature for the 2006-07 school year in response to requests from the Library, the Associated Students of the University of Hawaii, and the Mānoa Chancellor‘s office.

The UH Mānoa Library began its extended hours service last year at Sinclair Library, and will complete its planned extension at Hamilton Library this week.

Hamilton Library hours are: Sunday 12 p.m. — Friday 7 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. — 5 p.m. Complete library hours are available at http://library.manoa.hawaii.edu
