UH Contemporary Music Ensemble

The UH Contemporary Music Ensemble presents a program highlighting the colorful mosaic of music written in recent decades. The program includes John Adams‘s Hallelujah Junction for two pianos; Libby Larsen‘s Barn Dances for flute, clarinet and piano; and Morton Feldman‘s The Viola in My Life II for viola and six instrumentalists.
Visiting professor Sung-ah Kim, one of Korea’s best-known performers of the haegeum (the Korean two-stringed fiddle) will perform on Arvo Pärt‘s Spiegel im Spiegel, and the concert will also feature the premiere of UH undergraduate composer Tyler Ono‘s ensemble work Oni.

Tickets: $12 / $8  / UHM music majors free

 

Music students: this concert is eligible for Mus 199 concert attendance credit.
