Mānoa Council (MC)

Background and Purpose

The Mānoa Council is designed to serve as an advisory council for the Mānoa Chancellor's Office.

The Council recognizes the importance of consultation and cross-communication between campus constituencies, and importance of representative governance groups speaking on behalf of constituencies to have input in the decisions of the administration. The Mānoa Council will be made up of representatives of constituencies and governance groups, and will serve as the chief consultation body for the campus. The focus of the MC is on providing a forum for cross-communication between governance groups and good governance and communication with administration.

The Council will meet monthly, with quarterly meetings jointly with the Mānoa Executive Council. Minutes and Agendas will be publicly posted.

Membership

Membership to include the chair (or appropriate delegate) from primary academic governance groups within the Manoa campus including:

  • Mānoa Faculty Senate
  • Associated Students of the University of Hawai'i
  • Graduate Student Organization
  • Kuali'i Council
  • Administrative/Professional/Technical Employees Council
  • The Clerical Association
  • The Department Chairs Council

    The Chancellor will chair the meeting, Vice Chancellors and appropriate staff will also attend.
