RUSSIAN@UH

Ella Wiswell Russian scholarship supports students of Russian during their Junior and/or Senior year in the Russian Program at UH Manoa. GPA of 3.0 and higher is required. Preference is given to Russian Majors and students working towards their Certificate in Russian.

 

LLEA Department

The Alwine & Jesse Doyle European Language Study Abroad Scholarship supports University of Hawai`i at Mānoa students who want to earn credits in one of the languages taught in the Department of Languages & Literatures of Europe & the Americas (including Russian) at an accredited university in Europe. Students who propose to study at a European university where no UHM program exists should meet with the advisor or division chair before applying. Preference is given to students studying at the 200 level or above. Preference for graduate awards will be given to LLEA students.

 

Nationwide

Boren Scholarship, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study Russian abroad. Boren Scholarships promote long term linguistic and cultural immersion, and therefore study abroad proposals for two or more semesters are strongly encouraged.

SRAS, The School of Russian and Asian Studies offers funding for studying Russian in Russia and for programs which are specifically designed to interest those both inside and outside Russian studies. The latter include, but are not limited to The Art & Science of Museums in St. Petersburg and The Cuba-Russia Connection: Studies in Cultural Diplomacy in both Havana and St. Petersburg!

Russian Film Collection

The Russian program’s film collection offers students an opportunity to get acquainted with Russian culture through film. You can borrow contemporary Russian films as well as the movies produced before 1991 for your projects related to Russian Cinema and Culture courses.
