Last two weeks were full of exiting activities for Russian Club members because we did a photoshoot for RUSSIAN@UH promotion and organized a Russian picnic. Students and faculty brought about 20 dishes to share and enjoyed Russian tastes in Paradise Palms. On the menu, we had tvorog with raisins (farmer’s cheese), pirozhki (turnovers filled with eggs and green onions), honey layered cake medovik, stuffed cabbage golubtsi, bean salad, kompot (stewed fruit), chicken Kiev, sharlotka (apple pie), buckwheat aka kasha with mushrooms, and of course borscht. Borscht was inspired by Battleship Potemkin movie by Sergei Eisenstein.
