This year, the German program celebrates its largest graduating class in the history of the program!! Join us in congratulating our graduating seniors! The following students finished their B.A. in German over the past year. Commencement takes place on Saturday, May 17, 2014, 9:00am -12:00 noon. 

Dec. 2013 graduates:

– Kyra Howe – Double Major: German and Anthropology. Member, Delta Phi Alpha. Kyra has been awarded a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant in Austria (2014-2015).

– Hannah Shelton – Double Major: German and Chemistry. Member, Delta Phi Alpha. Hannah began graduate studies in Chemistry at UH in the spring 2014 semester.

– Jesse Shiroma – Double Major: German and History. Member, Delta Phi Alpha. Jesse studied in Germany on a CBYX scholarship during 2012-2013 academic year.

Spring 2014 graduates:

– Lorraine Ako – Double Major: German + Communications Arts. Member, Delta Phi Alpha, National German Honorary Society. Lorraine has been accepted a position at KITV.

– Alexandra Andren – Double Major: German + Political Science. Member, Delta Phi Alpha. Alex won a DAAD summer scholarship (2013) and interned in Gov. Abercrombie’s office fall 2013. She has accepted a position with Teach for America (2014-2015).

– Taressa Ishimi – Double Major: German and Classics. Member, Delta Phi Alpha.

– Teri Morris – Double Major: German and Anthropology. Member, Delta Phi Alpha. Teri not only just finished her B.A. She also just gave birth to a baby girl!

– Nathan Orr – Double Major: German and Psychology. Member, Delta Phi Alpha.

– Madoka Tran – Double Major: German and History. Member, Delta Phi Alpha.

The German program warmly congratulates these students on their graduation — an incredible achievement — and wishes them well in their future ventures!
