This semester, the German film series will screen films in conjunction with LLEA 342 – German Fascism and Propaganda and the White Rose exhibit on view at UHM Hamilton Library’s Bridge Gallery through Friday, March 22, 2013.

Hitler Youth Quex (1933) – Dir. Hans Steinhoff – 95 mins – This 1933 film based on a 1932 novel is one of the first films to articulate the Nazi ideology. It documents Weimar era tensions between Nazis and Communists and shows how Nazi rhetoric depicted them. It also paints a glorifying picture of the self-sacrifice of youth for the Nazi party. In German with English sub-titles.
