FEBRUARY 19 at 2 p.m.
LOCATION: UHM Dance Studio, 1820 Edmondson Rd. off Maile Way
The biannual Footholds concerts showcase the zenith of student choreography and movement-centered work, achieved through massive amounts of sweat, blood, and determination.
This particular Footholds will be unique, featuring work not only from dance students but from Peiling Kao, UHM’s newest Assistant Professor of Dance and the supervisor for this particular Footholds. Kao, a dancer educator, dance-maker and performer from Taiwan with a dance career spanning over 30 years, is in her first year teaching at UHM.
“These wide-ranging influences all make up who I am as an artist; I am constantly trying to stay innovative, keeping myself from falling into habits that I may have picked up during my many years of training,” Kao says.
